“ We made a last min choice to come here, and it wasn't bad! It was your basic burger and wings kinda of place, which was exactly what we were looking for. The waiter was great, and the food came out quick! The only reason I'm not giving it a 5 is because it really didn't blow me away, most of the food was just okay and neither of us finished our meal. It's great if you need something last minute but I would probably try another spot before coming back to this one ”
“ Made a reservation for a Saturday lunch time, and I'm so glad I did. The restaurant was busy and the atmosphere was very lively. We got a booth and received great and friendly service. The drinks came out fast and the food was delicious. We shared a wing tower between 4 people and it was more than enough food. Definitely recommend for watching sports and having a good time! ”
“ Jake Melnick's Corner Tap? More like Jake Melnick's Flavortown! Food: Had to indulge in the wings. Tried the bbq and buffalo bone in wings. Great flavor and portions! Also tried the elite dip and seasoned waffle fries. I'd go for the fries again! Service: Excellent service and efficient timing with taking orders, checking in on our table, and delivering food. Vibe: This is an ideal spot for a quick catch up with a friend or a casual night in to watch a game. There are tvs all around and a variety of seating options. ”
“ The Firecracker wings and waffle fries were absolutely delicious! Plus, they have that good good ranch--always a win. The well drinks were a bit pricey, but that's pretty standard for Chicago. I was happy to have stumbled across this spot. They also had the restaurant decorated for Christmas. Very cozy and cute. That said, our server was efficient and got us what we needed, but they didn't smile or make any effort to connect or elevate the experience. A little warmth and attentiveness would've made a big differences, but overall a grad experience. ”
“ I've been to Jake Melnick's a good amount of times since 2021 and they remain one of my favorite sports bars with some of the best sports wings in Chicago! Jake's is a cozy neighborhood sports bar in River North. I was here a few weeks ago for a friend's birthday party and we had a group of about 20. One of the biggest pretzel that I have ever seen. Soft on the inside, but dry on the outside. It needed more butter and salt. Beer cheese and mustard are excellent. No spice aka horseradish for the mustard. Cheese curds are excellent. They were fried to perfection and pretty big curds. The sauce had a small kick. We ended up getting three wing towers: firecracker, buffalo, Poncho's, and sauce of the month (Black Widow for Halloween: sweet and soy sauce base). All of the wings were excellent, but my favorites were the firecracker and the sauce of the month. Our waitress, Galea, was awesome! Prices are fair for Chicago. Overall, I am a huge fan of Jake Melnick's and it remains a Chicago staple! ”
“ I heard great things about the wings at Jake's, so I had to try them! I ordered for delivery through DoorDash on football Sunday and went with the boneless wings, thinking they'd travel better, along with the buffalo chicken dip. The dip was excellent--full of flavor, traveled well, and was the perfect game day snack. Unfortunately, there was a mix-up, and I received bone-in wings instead of the boneless I ordered. Not a huge deal, but it was still disappointing. The wings were tasty--maybe not the best in the city, but definitely solid. I'll be back to try them in person and get the full experience. I have a feeling Jake's might be even better when you're there in person! Four stars for now but I'd likely go for five with the correct order. ”
“ I needed a place for a late night bite and Jake Melnick's popped up after a YELP search. They are known for their chicken wings and smash burger. I was set on the wings, but I had a change of heart when I arrived. The smash burger was down right delicious! I will say I should've only gotten one patty, two was too much! The burger was perfectly seasoned, garnished with lettuce, tomato, onion and a nice amount of cheese. To complement the burger, it was paired with a mound of mouthwatering house made fries. Service was kind of slow! My friend and I sat on the patio, enjoying the night breeze and city sounds. This is definitely one of my new Chicago favorites and it's most definitely in the rotation from now on! ”
“ Went on a sunday evening, wasn't too busy, maybe because of the rain? Good bar food, was in the mood for some good ol' fried food. Which they have all the options to choose from. Service was a little slow, and server also forgot to input my drink order. So I ended up canceling my drink. It's definitely a local spot with lots of TVs to watch the any game. ”
